How to configure an Smartermail IMAP connection for an iOS/Android device




iPhone/iPad/Android devices all support IMAP email protocol with your WebSecureStores SmarterMail email server.

If followed the below steps will assist you in creating a WebSecureStores SmarterMail IMAP connection to an iOS/Android device. Your device may not have the exact steps listed, however you should be able to configure your device using this information. If you encounter any issues please contact our support team.

1. On your iPhone/iPad/Android device, click Settings.

2. Click Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

3. Click Add Account.

4. Click Other.

5. Click Add Mail Account.

6. Complete the Name, Address (email address), Password and Description fields.

7. Click Next.

8. Ensure IMAP is selected.

9. Enter your incoming mail server information:
Hostname: is mail.yourdomainname.com ( change yourdomain.com to your real actual domain name.)
Username: is your full email address
Password: is the same password used to access webmail.

10. Enter your outgoing mail server information:
Hostname: is mail.yourdomainname.com ( change yourdomain.com to your real actual domain name.)
Username: is your full email address
Password: is the same password used to access webmail.
click Next.


11. Your iPhone/iPad/Android device will attempt to establish an SSL connection to your IMAP and SMTP servers. If this fails, you will see the prompt, "Do you want to try setting up the account without SSL?"
click yes. When prompted, "This account may not be able to send or receive emails. Are you sure you want to save," click Save.

12. Click the account you just added (identified by your email address) Scroll down and click the SMTP button.

13. Select the server you just added, identified by the hostname from step 9.

14. Select OFF for Use SSL.

15. Select Password for Authentication

16. Select 25 for Server Port.

17. Click the SMTP button to go back.

18. Click your email address to go back.

19. Click Advanced. Scroll down to Incoming Settings.

20. Select OFF for Use SSL.

21. Select Password for Authentication.

22. Select 143 or 993 for the IMAP Server Port.

23. Click your email address to go back.

24. Click Mail to go back.

25. Click the Home button.

26. Click the Mail App to check your configuration.
