How do I change the HOST or ADMIN passwords in DotNetNuke?

Q: I have just opened an account with WebSecureStores and got logged into my DotNetNuke site. It has an error message that said I should reset my DotNetNuke superuser password. I would like to know how can I change the host and admin passwords in my DotNetNuke portal?

A: If you are using DNN 6 or above login to your DotNetNuke portal as the host. The default DNN host and DNN admin login for DNN sites are:

username: host
password : dnnhost

username: admin
password : dnnadmin

Once you are logged in as the DNN host or superuser account click the words in the right side of the menu that say superuser account. A new menu will open press edit profile, then manage password. In order to change your password, you will need to provide your current password, as well as your new password and a confirmation of your new password. Enter your new password and save the changes. If you lost the DNN host password and cannot get it using the DNN password reminder or from your WebSecureStores welcome email you can create a script to reset the encrypted password in the database or create a new superuser account if you have access to the database.
